Anyone who operates a Jet-ski, is require by NYS Law
to have a Boating Certificate with jet-ski endorsement.
Ages 18 & under,
must have a boating certificate to operate a boat.
Adults do not need a boating certificate yet to operate a boat.
But, we are encouraging everyone to get your certificate now.
You will be grand fathered in when it does become law.
Most Coast Guard Auxiliary Courses & NY Boating
Safety Courses cost $10 for adults and free for kids.
Power Squadron courses cost about $35 for the full
course that includes plotting and navigating.
Check with Ulster Community College for there fees.
Insurance Discount may apply. Boating Certificates issued upon
completion
of course and they are good for life.
