Saturday, May 21st

I'm posting this photo that made everyone at the marina smile & laugh today.
Jean Kupferschib, 87 years young fishing with her son Neil today boated a
44 lbs. 3 oz Striper; 44 1/2". It was a great day for Mother & Son.

Friday, May 20th

River & Creek have been running high and lots of debris.
Water Temperature 59 degrees

Stripers have been coming in steadly - the condition of the river
has not prevented stripers from being boated.

Bait Available: Sandworms, Bloodworms, Frozen herring &
maybe Saturday morning we might have iced herring. The condition
of the creek and river has made herring difficult to come by.

Change in Plans for the Kids Fishing Tournament:

Wednesday, May 11, 2011

Sorry for not posting as often as I should.

Water temperatures have been staying between 52 & 54 degrees.
Wind & debris on the River has been making it very hard to fish.

Large schools have been showing up, but then they disappear around the Kingston area.
Best Bait to use; chunk herring. Bloods & Sands have also been doing well.

Bait Available: Live Herring, Iced Herring, Frozen Herring, Bloodworms & Sandworms.

Kitchen is open on the weekends - Special this weekend - Pulled Pork Sandwichs.

Herring are here in good numbers. Stripers being boated
and landed on the Rondout Creek as well as the Hudson River.

A lot of fishermen are asking for gill nets. We do not sell them.
If you want one, please read DEC guidelines on the net size and remember
they are for herring only, not stripers. They are expensive and you need
to know how to use them. In the end it may be cheaper to buy your bait.

Weather has been really nice. Nights have been thundershorms.
Thursday is expected to be a bad day.

For those coming in this weekend for dockage, please see me at
the office for location of your slip.

Thursday, April 14th

Bait Available: Bloodworms, Sandworms, Iced Herring & this year's Frozen Herring.
Water temperature in the River - 45 degrees

Herring showing up in the Creek and River, but the water is rough and windy.

More & more fishermen are showing up, so that means the stripers must be here!

Sunday, April 10,2011

Herring were running in the Rondout Creek today! Stripers will be following closely.
Shore fishermen have been experiencing a good season, catching a lot of stripers that
spent the winter with us. Nothing wrong with that!

There is still a lot of debris in the creek and river. There are also numerous trees that
embedded themselves in the creek bed and river bed, so please be careful out there.
Also, remember the law states that if you are in a boat 21' and under, everyone must
be wearing a life jacket until May 1st. This is for you safety during the cold water temperature months.

Bait Available: Iced Herring @ $1.50 ea.; Frozen Herring @ $5.00 (3 in a bag)
We ran out of Sands & Bloods on Saturday. Did not know that so many fishermen were out there.
Will make sure that we have bait everyday, but there may be exceptions!

Next Delivery for Bloods & Sands will be Wednesday.
Sell by the dozen, 1/2 flat & full flat.

Rondout Creek 49.9 temperature; Hudson River 45.2 temperature
